Crosswalk Destinations: Israel/Jordan/Greece 2019

Crosswalk is excited to offer an opportunity to travel to Israel and Jordan From June 19 to July 3, 2019. (See Itinerary Below) As well, we will also add an additional opportunity to travel to Greece either with the Israel/Jordan trip or as a stand-alone experience. (More Information to come in the upcoming weeks as we solidify the trip and price). We can think of nothing better than to travel with our community to these amazing places, to #lovewell and to #learnwell while we are there, together!

Welcome to Israel. Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv and Transfer to Hotel in Tel Aviv.

Day 3-June 21

Visit to a baptismal site (Yardinit), Beit She'an, Synagogue floor at Bet Alpha, Gan Hashalosha a short swim and Vegetarian lunch (Chips, Sandwich - cheese, tomatoes, Ice Cream or popsicle). We drive towards Jerusalem via the Mt. of Temptations viewpoint, Jericho, Jerusalem overlook, Mt. Of Olives. Overnight: Jerusalem, Dan Panorama Hotel or Mt. Zion Hotel

Day 4-June 22 (Sabbath)

There is so much to do, and so much to see! Learn more about the fascinating history of the Old City on the morning tour that begins with 8:30 AM Sabbath worship at the Garden Tomb, one of the sites of the burial place of Jesus. On our walk up the Via Dolorosa (Way of the Cross), with stops at the Pool of Bethesda, St. Anne's Church, Convent of the Sisters of Zion—Roman Pavement, Struthion Pool. Lunch in the Old City and a visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Time permitting, we visit the Cardo, a colonnaded Roman shopping street during the Byzantine period, the Jewish Quarter's four Sephardic Synagogues. Then, on to the state-of-the-art Davidson Center in the archaeological Park with its exhibits and interactive multimedia, including a virtual reality reconstruction of the Herodian Temple Mount in the year 70 CE.8:30 AM then a visit to the model of 1st century Jerusalem, the Shrine of the Book (Dead Sea Scrolls), Israel Archaeological Museum. And time permitting, a visit to St. Peter in Gallicantu, (Chaiphas’ house). Overnight: Jerusalem.

Day 5-June 23 (Sunday)

Full day tour to the North of Israel. 9:30 AM tour begins with visits to Caesarea Maritima, lunch at Druze Village en route, Megiddo, Ba’hai Gardens and Haifa panorama. Overnight: Mt. Carmel Dan Panorama Hotel.

Day 6-June 24 (monday)

Visit to Akko, Zappori, Nazareth Village with lunch included, Church of the Annunciation in Nazareth. Overnight: at Kibbutz Nof Ginosar Hotel or 4Star Tiberius Hotel by the sea of Galilee.

Day 7-June 25 (Tuesday)

8 AM — Jesus Boat on Galilee, Tabgha— Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes, Capernaum, Jesus' home town, Drive up the Golan Heights to a quaint Druze lunch spot by the “Lake of Tears” for falafel lunch included, Nimrud’s Fortress, Banyas (Caesarea Phillipi), Tel Dan (time permitting)Mt. of Beatitudes, Galilee Experience after dinner. Overnight: Nof Ginosar Hotel or Tiberius Hotel as selected by our tour agents.

Day 8-June 26 (Wednesday)

Day 9-June 27 (Thursday)

Visit the Temple Mount, Western Wall excavations (Tunnel), Jewish Quarter, and the Burnt House, set ablaze by the Romans., the Lunch at Bethlehem and Manger Square visit. Bethlehem includes a visit to the Church of the Nativity, commemorating the birthplace of Christ. A stop for local olive wood handicrafts is included. This evening, dinner together at the hotel Overnight: Optional visit in Jerusalem with late night shopping on Ben Yuhuda Street (7:30 PM-9 PM) Bus available for transfer and return to hotel at 8-9:30 PM.

Day 10-June 28 (Friday)

Early departure for Masada, Lunch in Masada, drive to the Dead Sea for an "unsinkable" swim in the salty and buoyant waters before returning to Jerusalem. We visit the site of the Dead Sea Scrolls—Qumran. Overnight Jerusalem.

Day 11-June 29 (Sabbath)

Morning visit to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust museum, a must see in Jerusalem. Lunch on your own in Jerusalem with the afternoon free for shopping, swimming, resting. A half day to discover this fascinating city on your own. In Jerusalem, center of three of the world's greatest religions, there are endless opportunities to explore. A walk through the city's colorful neighborhoods reveals a diverse blend of traditional and modern cultures. Day 12-June 30 (Sunday)

Early morning transfer from Jerusalem to Amman, Jordan. The boarder crossing takes some time, but we then meet our guide in Jordan and begin our journey towards our overnight in Petra With visits to Mount Nebo, where Moses viewed the Holy Land, and a short stop for a visit to St. Georg’e church where an exquisite mosaic show the layout of Israel in the Byzantine period and lunch in Madaba, Jordan. After lunch in Madaba we drive past crusader fortresses and on to Petra, that “Rose City.” Overnight: Petra at the Movenpick hotel.

Day 13-July 1 (Monday)

Full Day with guide in Petra with guide and time to do some of your own exploring. Overnight: Petra.

Day 14-July 2 (Tuesday)

After breakfast, travel north of Amman for lunch included then on to the best preserved example of Roman civilization in Jordan, the city of Jerash, part of the Decapolis (the ten large Roman cities of the East) has been called the Pompeii of the East for its unique state of preservation. It features theaters, churches, temples of Zeus and Artemis, a Nymphaeum and colonnaded streets. Later, overview of Ajloun the 12th century Saracen Castle. This castle was built by one of Saladin's lieutenants in the campaign against the Crusaders. Overnight: Amman or border crossing if flights to LAX are in Israel. Day 15-July 3 (Wednesday)

Flights home from Amman or Tel Aviv (To be decided). Morning transfer to Tel Aviv for overnight or for our flights home in the early morning to LAX. Unless you are headed to Greece, and then More Information Here.
